Helios - resistant variety

Origin:

This is a white fungus-resistant cross from the Weinbauinstitut of Freiburg.

Crossing: Merzling X (Seyve-Villard 12-481 X Müller-Thurgau).

Synonyms:

FR 242-73

Requirements to the vineyard site:

The site requirements of Helios are similar to those of Pinot Blanc.

Spread:

Limited at the moment, as it is a relatively new variety.

Specials:

The peronospora and oidium resistance is good. Under normal circumstances 2-3 treatments around flowering may be sufficient.

Wine style:

Fruity wine with a light bouquet. Sometimes somewhat reminiscent of Müller-Thurgau.
