Bronner - resistant variety

Origin:

This is a white fungus resistant cross, made by the Weinbauinstitut Freiburg.

Cross:  Merzling X Gm 6494 (Zarya Severa X St. Laurent)

Synonyms:

FR 250-75

Requirements to the vineyard site:

The requirements of Bronner are more or less the same as the ones of Pinot gris.

Spread:

For the moment not that widely spread because the variety is new. There are plantings in Germany, the Netherlands and Italy.

Specials:

The resistance against Downy Mildew is very good and the resistance against Powdery Mildew is high. In normal years and under normal circumstances no treatments will be necessary.

Type of Wine:

Similar to Pinot blanc or Pinot gris.

Downey Mildew: Rpv3.3, Rpv10
